Orange Coffee Cake

2 cups unbleached organic all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoon all purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1-2 tablespoons orange juice
3/4 cup powdered sugar
zest of orange

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In food processor with steel chopping blade in place, whirl flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt to blend. Add butter and process just to cut it into the flour mixture. Add egg, milk and vanilla and process just to form a ball of dough, dusting hands or work surface with flour if needed. Divide dough into two parts, one a little larger than the other. Cover and let rest. In meantime, combine brown sugar, walnuts, flour, butter and orange peel. Set aside. Pat or roll the larger part of the dough into a 9 inch pie plate, bringing the dough up the sides of the pan. Sprinkle with orange zest filling. Roll or pat remaining dough to place on top. Bake 25-30 minutes. In meantime, in food processor with steel chopping blade in place, whirl orange juice with powdered sugar to make a glaze. After removing coffee cake from oven, drizzle with the glaze and garnish with zest of orange. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
