Almond Butter Cookies

1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1/2 cup almond paste (almond butter)
powdered sugar to sprinkle on top

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside. In separate bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy with the white and brown sugars. Beat in the egg, and then beat in the almond paste. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients to make a stiff dough. Freeze dough for 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, and place them 3 inches apart on a lightly greased, or parchment lined, baking sheet. Use fork to make criss-cross to flatten. Bake 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
