Chocolate Cookie Bars
or drop cookies

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 teaspoons real vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/3 cup all-purpose flour, sifted or lifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In batter bowl, cream together the butter, sugars, and vanilla, adding eggs and beating well. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Blend into the egg mixture, adding chips and nuts. Spread into a buttered 12 by 17 inch baking sheet with sides.

Bake 25 minutes, or until the bars are set and browned on top. Allow to cool on rack before slicing into bars or diamonds. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

To make drop cookies, simply drop by tablespoons using the cookie dropper onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes.
