1 quart fresh berries
1/2 cup sugar
Topping:
1 cup corn meal
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
Sauce:
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Place berries in a 2-quart baking dish, and sprinkle with sugar. For the
topping, mix together all dry ingredients, then quickly stir in the milk
and melted butter. Drop batter by the tablespoon on top of berries,
forming a design of rounds.
Mix together sauce ingredients, and pour over batter and exposed
berries. Bake in a moderately hot oven, 375 degrees, for 1 hour.
